Our office is here to assist international students and scholars with questions about studying, living and working at Towson University and the Baltimore metropolitan area.
Towson University is home to over 400 international students from over 80 countries and to 30 foreign faculty, exchange scholars, and visiting faculty each year. The International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO) provides documents, services, and programs essential to a culturally diverse academic environment that enhances international learning opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
The ISSO and campus partners provide programming and events that enhance and enrich the international student experience at Towson University.

Spring 2024 CPT Workshop. 10-11:30 AM, PY407. CPT, Curricular Practical Training, is the employment authorization that allows many students to work off-campus during their program of study. The workshop will explain who is eligible, how to apply, and the basic rules of CPT. You are encouraged to attend if your program requires, or you have interest in, off-campus internship/practicum/professional experience in Summer or Fall 2024. ISSO conducts an in-person CPT workshop every semester. Due to limited space, priority will be given to those who will or want to start off-campus internship/practicum/professional experience in Summer or Fall 2024. Register here.

Arriving and Thriving in the US: A Support Group for Immigrant & International Students. Hosted each Wednesday by ISSO, 3:30-4:20 PM, PY407 (ISSO Classroom), and led by our campus partners at the TU Counseling Center. Continues each Wednesday throughout the month.
March 7 and 13, 2024
Tax Workshops for Nonresident Students. 2-4:00 PM, PY407. Offered by ISSO and TU Financial Services. All nonresident students working in the U.S. must file their tax return each year. To help with this process, Rachel Morgan of TU's Nonresident Alien Tax Office will give a brief overview of the US tax system and aid the group with preparing relevant tax forms. You must pre-register in advance. Send your name, TU ID number, and preferred workshop date to nratax AT_TOWSON.
