Register to attend the Student Engagement CoP in person or access the Student Engagement CoP via Zoom

Student engagement pedagogies are teaching and learning approaches that are student-focused and research-based.  As we support student engagement with course content, peers, and the faculty, we see better academic performance and lower failure rates.  A community of practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a common interest in a topic and come together in shared professional development.  FACET supports faculty, staff, and librarians who come together several times a year to form the Student Engagement CoP.  We welcome you to our first meeting of the 2024-25 academic year.  Learn a new classroom practice, help shape the group meetings for the year and learn more about documenting the impact of enhanced student engagement.  Participation for novices and experts alike is encouraged.

Register to attend Tech Tips for Faculty

We’ll cover practical tips and tools to enhance your efficiency, including how to enable and use the clipboard history, valuable keyboard shortcuts, leverage the snipping tool feature and emoji keyboard, and more! Whether you're looking to simplify your workflow or integrate new features, this workshop will provide valuable insights and actionable strategies to improve your Blackboard usage and save time.

Register to attend the AI DEI in the Classroom Workshop

Generative AI affords faculty new pedagogies as well as new ways to employ traditional ones to address diversity efforts in teaching and learning.  AI initiatives enjoy an increasingly significant role in teaching and learning.  The digital tools associated with AI can support teaching and learning ways that increase efficiency, engagement, and student success.   This session is designed to demonstrate how a unique diversity framework guides faculty in the integration of AI tools to support representation, inclusion, social justice and cultural identity initiatives in the classroom.  Accompanying AI tools provide exciting opportunities for faculty and students to participate in a learning environment whereby everyone is included and represented.  Further, faculty can employ digital tools that support students’ social justice efforts related to the discipline and course content. Learn how to easily create images that reflect the diversity of your students, quickly develop scripts representative of diverse points of view that can be used in videos, case studies, and role plays.  Emphasis will be placed on how to use the tools to achieve diversity, equity and inclusion goals for teaching and learning.  All are welcome from AI novices to experts.

Join us for discussions on Al use, integrating Al-based tools into your instruction and exploring various generative Al tools! Drop-Ins are held monthly during the fall semester.
