University Commencements
One "Commencement" permit will be issued to each graduate with their cap and gown. Commencement permits are required to park in designated lots as indicated below. Please review the information provided with your permit for specific information regarding parking locations for graduates, guests and individuals with mobility issues.
Commencement Day Parking Information
If you are attending one of the ceremonies, please expect heavy traffic throughout the day starting at 8 a.m. Towson Center parking lots 19, 20 and 21 will be restricted to graduates who have a Commencement day permit or individuals with handicapped permits/plates.
Towson Center parking lots 13 and 14 will be available for guest parking. No permits will be required for these lots. Shuttle buses will run continuously between lots 13 and 14 and the Towson Center to transport guests from the parking areas. The shuttle buses will run 1.5 hours before and after each ceremony.
Individuals who arrive at later times may be directed to parking spaces on the main campus.
PLEASE NOTE: Vehicles will NOT be permitted near the Towson Center to drop off passengers. Individuals must park in their designated areas and ride the shuttle or walk to the Towson Center.

PLEASE CLEARLY DISPLAY COMMENCEMENT AND HANDICAPPED PERMITS
PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT PARKING LOTS
- Please note there is ongoing construction on I695 near the Charles street exit. Plan for traffic delays.
- All Towson Center Lots (13, 14, 19, 20, 21 and 21a) are reserved for commencement use only.
- Graduates displaying a "Commencement" permit will have access to lots 19, 20 & 21. Graduates who arrive without the "Commencement" permit will be directed to the next available guest lot.
- Handicapped parking for individuals with valid state issued handicapped permits/plates will be available in lot 21 next to the Towson Center and lot 13.
- Individuals with Commencement permits or handicapped permits/plates should follow the road signs and enter from the south side of Auburn Drive. Parking staff will provide direction to the next available lot.
- Lots will open 1 ½ hours prior to the ceremony for graduates and their guests.
- The Union Garage will serve as overflow parking for each ceremony as needed. Signs will be in place to direct guests to the appropriate parking areas.
Shuttle Information
- Graduation Shuttles – Shuttle buses will run continuously between the Towson Center parking lots, 1 ½ hours before the ceremony, during the ceremony and for 1 ½ hours after each ceremony.
- Regular shuttle routes will not be in operation.
- Service to the main campus will only be provided in the event of overflow parking to the Union Garage.
Individuals with Disabilities
Parking for individuals with disabilities will be available in lot 21 adjacent to the Towson Center while space is available. Once this lot is full, additional parking will be available in lot 13. In order to utilize handicapped parking spaces, a valid state issued handicapped permit or license plate must be clearly displayed. It is recommended that individuals with mobility issues travel in the vehicle that will be in possession of the Commencement permit.

Guests with mobility needs, who do not have a state issued accessible license plate or hangtag should park in the designated lot based on whether or not they are in possession of a Commencement permit. Shuttle buses and Para transit services will be available from all Towson Center lots to transport guests to the Towson Center. Family members of guest who utilize the Paratransit service are welcome to ride the Paratransit provided space is available. After the ceremony, shuttles and the Para transit will be available to transport passengers back to parking lots. Service may be requested by speaking with a Parking & Transportation staff member or by calling 410-704-RIDE (7433).
