A Message from President Robert L. Caret:

Towson University is a place of possibility.  Look to the past; look at the present; look to the future. You will see Towson constantly evolving - evolving as a place of possibility for professional and personal growth – for employees and for students.

As a comprehensive university, Towson University offers a wide range of baccalaureate programs and is committed to graduate education at both the master's and applied doctorate level. Towson also defines itself as a metropolitan university, with a strong focus on the region and a mission that includes teaching, research and public service.

In many ways Towson University embodies the American dream. We take a broad cross-section of society and give them the tools they need to become upwardly mobile. That's our role, and it's an exciting one.  I hope you are just as enthusiastic about being part of helping our students realize that dream.

As you begin your association with Towson University, I am pleased to offer you my best wishes for a rewarding and growth-filled experience.  To that end, the Office of Human Resources has prepared this handbook as an overview of our policies and procedures, of the benefits and services available to you.  OHR is committed to creating an environment where employees are treated fairly and respectfully.

Your opportunities as an employee at Towson University are substantial.  I invite you to become fully involved in campus life, taking advantage of a full slate of opportunities from staff development to tuition remission to recreation and wellness.

Sincerely,

Robert L. Caret
