Cost of Attendance

We calculate aid eligibility based on the estimated annual Cost of Attendance Budgets listed below.  (For more eligibility information, see How Awards Are Determined.) 

These fall-spring budgets include estimated direct costs for TU charges such as tuition and on campus room/board, and allowances for other indirect costs such as off-campus room/board, transportation, personal expenses and books/supplies.  Your actual costs may vary.

Tuition/fees are based on our standard rates (2016-17 rate details).  

Both on-campus and off-campus room/board allowances are based on the estimated costs for a multiple-occupancy room in our standard housing options (Glen Complex, Richmond, Newell, Prettyman, Scarborough, and Residence Tower). The board costs are based on our 14 meals/week plan.  For more information on our 2016-17 room and board rates, see TU Housing and Meal Plans.

Use the "Living with Parents" room/board allowances if you will be commuting from parent housing.

(All rates remain subject to change by TU and the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.)

Enrollment Requirements

  • We build all initial budgets and aid offers based on full-time status. If you will enroll part-time, your award notice will include instructions for changing your status to part-time.
  • If you enroll less than half-time, your budget can only include Tuition/Fees and books/supplies and can’t include room/board, personal, or transportation costs.

All of the data below is based on TU's tentative rates for 2017-2018.  The USM Board of Regents will not approve our final 2017-2018 rates until June 2017.
