The second bachelor's program provides students the opportunity to pursue new career
opportunities or achieve personal goals by completing a second undergraduate degree
in one of more than 60 majors.
To qualify for admission, students must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited
college or university. A maximum of 90 transferable credits will be applied toward
the second bachelor's degree and the student will not have to complete Core Curriculum
requirements, except for an upper-level writing course. Second bachelor's students
must complete a minimum of 30 units at Towson University and meet all the requirements
for the major.

To ensure you qualify for admissions to the second bachelor’s program, read all program policies before submitting your application.
- Submit your application.
Complete the Towson University Online Application.
Note: International Students on F-1 or J-1 Visas must apply through International Admissions
- Know the deadlines.
The final application deadline is Oct. 15 for the spring term and Jan. 15 for the
fall term. *The fall 2017 application is closed.
- Pay your application fee.
A $45 non-deferrable, non-refundable fee is required with your application. If you
apply online, you will be able to pay the application fee with a credit card or electronic check.
You can request an application fee waiver.
- Submit your transcripts.
You must submit official transcripts for each college or university you have attended.
These transcripts must be submitted separately from your application, and mailed to:

- Select a major.
You must declare a major when you submit your application. You may change your major
at a later time, but you must contact University Admissions at 410-704-2113. Please
do not submit a Change of Major/Minor Form.
Some majors have additional requirements or screening criteria, which may include
auditions, prerequisite courses, supplemental applications or minimum GPA requirements
at Towson. Please refer to the list of majors to determine if your intended major has additional requirements. We also recommend
you contact the major department for more information.
Please note the following for specific majors:
Nursing: Students interested in pursuing a second bachelor's degree in nursing should apply
to both the second bachelor's program and the nursing program. There is no need to
wait to be admitted to the nursing program before applying to the second bachelor's
program. Please contact the Department of Nursing at 410-704-4170 to receive the nursing program application.
Art Education: Once your second bachelor application has been submitted please contact the Art Education major to complete the screening process of the program.
Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education: Students in these majors cannot complete the second bachelor program. Students who
wish to enter the education field for the first time are encouraged to contact the
College of Education to determine their qualifications for the Master of Arts in Teaching.
Occupational Therapy: Students in this major cannot complete the second bachelor's program. Please apply
to the occupational therapy master’s program.
Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology: Applications to the speech-language pathology and audiology major are reviewed the first week in June for fall admission. The program does not admit
students at any other time during the year. Students will be contacted in mid-June
with the status of their application.
