Kayla Lesesne followed the aroma of marinara sauce all the way to Florence, Italy.  A senior international business student, Lesesne preferred her study abroad experience with a side of pasta.

"I am interested in the differences between cultures and how business is conducted in different parts of the world. And I love Italian food!”

Her experience with global business practices will surely contribute to her success in her post-graduation job at Goldman Sachs in New York.

Focused, competitive and forward-thinking, Lesesne says she developed these qualities through competitive sports. An athlete since childhood, she played field hockey in high school and one year each at Hofstra University and Towson. “Being competitive helped me push myself in school and never be content with being average.”

Lesesne wanted an academic program that met her standards for excellence, and she found that in Towson University’s international business program. “What makes Towson’s business school distinctive from other colleges are the professors. Professor Quincey Johnson and Professor Sam Caballero have helped from my first days on campus until the present. All of the professors are so willing to help.”

With an already full plate, Lesesne still makes time to be actively involved in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. “The organization not only embodies a sisterhood but is founded on service to all mankind.” Lesesne’s mother – and role model – introduced her to the sorority, which has positively impacted both of their lives.
