DEPARTMENT OF E-BUSINESS and TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT

The Department of e-Business & Technology Management is the home for technology related courses and programs. In today’s highly competitive environment, businesses, large and small, are critically dependent on mastering and managing technology to survive and prosper as organizations conduct many aspects of business electronically.

The Department of e-Business and Technology Management offers the e-Business major

EBUS class

including the combined e-Business and business administration major (marketing concentration) as well as e-Business and computer information systems. The e-Business program is designed for individuals who aspire to effectively harness technology to meet  business strategies and goals. The e-Business graduate is comfortable with both technology and business and therefore, serves as the primary orchestrator of business processes, technology and individuals to further an organization’s competitive edge.

E-Business graduates can pursue careers in  information technology or e-Business in addition to technology oriented companies. Opportunities also abound in a division or department (marketing, finance, operations, human resources) of an organization with technology initiatives aimed at  improving efficiency and effectiveness of the business unit. Potential positions include titles such as e-Business consultant, e-Business project manager, e-Business analyst, e-Business architect, e-Business design manager, among others. E-Business graduates may also decide to pursue an entrepreneurial technology oriented venture.

The Department aims to be on the cutting edge and strives to provide innovative and state-of-the-art programs and curriculum. More importantly, our focus is on providing an experiential learning model that extends beyond theory to hands-on, applied pedagogical approaches. Faculty in the department constantly refine their skills and course content to provide students with the latest in e-Business education.

Starting Fall 2009 the Department of e-Business & Technology Management will offer a new track in Project Management and Business Analysis (PMBA) within the Business Administration (BUAD) major. Key features of the PMBA track include:
  • Broad scope of employment opportunity in multiple industries and multiple functional areas

  • Gain practical experience through a "superinternship"
