Student Awards

Doctor of Audiology Students can receive awards from Towson University and other organizations.

These scholarships are usually awarded on an annual basis to Au.D. students:

 Award Details 
M. Barbara Laufer Fund This award was set up to honor a former chairperson, Dr. Barbara Laufer, at her retirement. This award is given to the Au.D. student who has demonstrated improvement over time in academic and/or clinical areas.
Audiology Scholarship This award is primarily funded by donations from the Lion’s Club. Two awards are given to Au.D. students: one for excellence in service and one for clinical excellence.
Class of ’23 Endowment Fund This award is funded by the Class of 1923 endowment. It is awarded at commencement every year (one for a graduate in each of the four programs in the department, including the Au.D. program).
Sanders, Zina Rose Scholarship Endowment This award goes to a graduate student (SLP MS or Au.D.) who exemplifies the indomitable spirit of the late Zina Rose Sanders, who passed away while studying audiology at Towson University.
Better Hearing Institute Fellowship This award is funded by an endowment created by Beltone in honor of a blind audiology student who completed a clinical placement in the Beltone office many years ago. It is open to all Au.D. students but the founders specified they would like special consideration for students with special needs for this award.
The HearingLife Scholarship The HearingLife Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is interested in working to help more people hear better through providing personalized hearing care to the public after graduation.
