Nursing (M.S.) 

Application Deadlines

Admission to Nursing (M.S.) is for the fall term only with the following deadlines: 

  • Priority Deadline: January 15
  • Final Deadline: April 1

Admission Criteria

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a field other than nursing.
  • A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 is required for full admission to the program, and 2.85 is required for conditional admission. All GPA calculations for admission are based upon the last 60 credits of undergraduate and post-baccalaureate study. See graduate admissions policies for more information and exceptions. 
  • Prerequisites: All prerequisites must be completed with a B (3.0) or higher. Applicants must have at least three prerequisite courses, including two lab sciences and one other course, completed by the application deadline in order for their application to be considered. Prerequisite statistics and science courses must be completed within the past five years. All other prerequisites must be completed by the start of the program. No more than two (2) repeated courses will be accepted.

    • Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 (must include lab)
    • Human Anatomy and Physiology 2 (must include lab)
    • Microbiology (must include lab)
    • General Chemistry 1 (must include lab)
    • Developmental Psychology or Lifespan Development
    • Basic Statistics
    • Nutrition for Health Professionals

Application Requirements 

Submit an online application, application fee and official transcripts, along with:

  • Letter of Recommendation: Two (2) letters of recommendation from instructors or supervisors familiar with your record, aptitude and potential for graduate work (email addresses of recommenders must be entered on application) are required.
  • Resume: A current resume demonstrating the nature, scope and areas of responsibility of all work experience (including any volunteer or paid healthcare-related experiences*)
    • Healthcare experience (volunteer or paid) is recommended

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

U.S. Immigration requires F1 and J1 students to be enrolled full-time with the majority of their classes taken in-person and on campus.
