With greater importance being placed on health and wellness,
and key advances in health care, the need for health
professionals with advanced degrees is at an all-time high.
Thus, the mission of the College of Health Professions is to
provide the highest quality of graduate learning experiences
in a wide range of health care professions that promote and
enhance health and well-being. Emphasis is placed on
theory-based applications for practice, education,
management and research that will prepare graduates to
assume roles in a variety of educational, clinical and
community settings.
The college offers doctoral, master’s and graduate
certificate programs. We are committed to the key values of
lifelong learning, excellence, ethical and moral conduct,
collaboration, and respect for the worth and dignity of all
people. Graduates are expected to exhibit the highest
ethical principles and professional behaviors in the
application of knowledge and critical thinking and are
proficient in the use of skills, effective communication and
technology. Internships, clinical experiences, and/or
independent studies provide opportunities to supplement and
enhance each student’s academic course work. Students have
ready access to an outstanding array of opportunities in the
many health care, educational, community and professional
organizations in the surrounding area.
Graduate programs in the college are accredited by
appropriate professional and educational agencies, thus
enabling the successful graduate to sit for her or his
professional licensure or certification exam where those
credentialing mechanisms exist.
