Training Opportunities

Training for the helping professions is a major commitment. The Counseling Center has a doctoral internship program that is fully approved by the American Psychological Association. The Counseling Center also offers externship training experiences for doctoral students in counseling and clinical psychology, as well as peer education programs for Towson undergraduate students.

Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology

The doctoral internship in health service psychology has been APA accredited since 1984. The Doctoral Internship program at Towson University's Counseling Center is directed by Dr. Diane Sobel, Director of Training. Externship Program

The Towson University Counseling Center provides training through its Externship Program to students enrolled in doctoral programs in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, pastoral psychology, or related fields. The Externship Program at Towson University's Counseling Center is directed by Dr. Chrissy Walsh, Externship Program Coordinator.
