Children's Dance Division
Towson University’s Children’s Dance Division reflects the vision of the  university's Department of Dance. Children are taught a variety of dance genres in order to promote an appreciation of the aesthetics of dance as an art form, the foundational skills necessary for "dancing for a lifetime," and professional and college preparation.
The Children's Dance Division offers a unique program for the exceptional student. The university’s nationally recognized dance faculty and staff create an encouraging yet challenging environment that pulls dancers into the exciting world of sophisticated, imaginative choreography and teaching methodology, while still emphasizing a strong technical foundation. Refining and inspiring the dancer’s body to reach its full potential is core to our curriculum, but educating and broadening the mind to appreciate and integrate self expression and the artistic voice of dance past and present in all forms is central.
Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD), the Children's Dance Division offers classic training in
ballet, modern, jazz, tap, Pointe, hip hop, African, stretch and Pilates, creative movement, and developmental
dance to boys and girls, ages 3 to 18. Classes are conducted by master teachers at state-of-the-art facilities in the Center for the Arts, on campus.
Ready to Register?
Towson faculty, staff and alumni receive a 10% discount toward TUCDD classes. Only one registration fee is required per family. Please download, complete and mail your registration form to the Children's Dance Division. Call 410-704-3495 for more information.
Parents are encouraged to download and read TUCDD's Student Handbook You can find helpful information regarding attendance, attire, inclement weather policy, etc.
