Founders Society
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the Founders Society?
A: The Founders Society is the university-wide leadership program for annual support that recognizes individuals who contribute through the Towson Fund.
Q: Can I support my college or a specific scholarship or program?
A: You decide where your gift is used. All gifts that you make between July 1 and June 30 qualify for Founders Society membership.
Q: Do gifts to athletics count toward membership?
A: Yes, and you can direct your gift to a team, a named fund supporting athletics, athletics in general, or academic support programs for athletes.
Q: Can I make a pledge?
A: Pledges are encouraged.
Or, contact the Founders Society office to set up a payment plan that is convenient for you. All payments must be received within the university's fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) to qualify for membership.
Q: My company matches my gifts. Does that count toward Founders Society membership?
A: Yes. If received in the same fiscal year, matching gifts are combined with your contribution to establish membership in the Founders Society.
Q: I have some appreciated securities. Can I contribute them?
A: Absolutely! For information about transferring securities to Towson University, contact the Founders Society office at 410-704-3375 or toll free at 1-866-301-3375.
Q: How do I volunteer for the Founders Society?
A: Contact Wendy Neuman, director of the Founders Society, at 1-866-301-3375 or wneuman@towson.edu. We welcome your help!
