Work up a sweat, relax and stretch, or take a self-guided tour at the Campus Recreation facility.  All family members 18 years and over are welcome; Free. All participants must sign a waiver and be dressed in appropriate athletic attire to workout. 

11 a.m.-4 p.m., Asian Art Gallery, Center for the Arts Room 2038 

Explore diverse works of art by Maryland-based Asian and AAPI visual artists which showcase the stories of, raise awareness about, and facilitate dialogue about the ideas and issues that are most important to the 500,000+ Asian and AAPI residents who play integral roles in the fabric of Maryland life. 
Some works will also be on display at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, 400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201

Women’s Rights Are Humans Rights: International Posters on Gender-based Inequality, Violence, and Discrimination is an exhibition that features posters created by both men and women to celebrate and acknowledge the vital role that all citizens play in protecting and promoting human rights while challenging gender inequality and stereotypes, advancing reproductive and sexual rights, protecting women and girls against brutality, and promoting women’s empowerment, education, and participation in society. The posters argue for the empowerment of women, achievement of equality between women and men, and the elimination of discrimination against women and girls.

Brenner’s sculptures express the inherent structure and order found in nature. The proportions and compositions are organized using geometry derived from mathematical formulae. Concern for craftsmanship and its relationship to process is evident in her figures, many of which are repurposed city trees that now take on a new life as artworks and remembrances of the places from which they fell. The sculptures remain, like a garden, works in progress—cumulative, rearrangeable and reworkable.

Night of Korean Songs: Longing features Professor Min Jin’s performance of beautiful and lyrical Korean art songs and sacred songs by the South Korean composer, Professor Hee Young Yang, with the accompaniment of Professor Eunae Han of George Mason University. The performance will evoke a sense of yearning and love through newly composed Korean harmonies inspired by the beauty of Korea's natural scenery and expressed through the backdrop of exquisite poetry. This concert hosted as part of Professor Jin’s sabbatical. 

7:00 p.m., Dryer MFA Lab, Center for the Arts 

Wave 11222 utilizes narrative storytelling through solo performance as a method to highlight individual stories within the larger cultural context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing from long-form interview data collected in Spring 2024, Wave 11222 blends the narratives of grief activists who have lost loved ones to COVID-19, autoethnography, and theoretically informed cultural critique to respond to the question: How does activism and coalitionality emerge from death and mourning? As a solo performance project, Wave 11222 is an accessible entry point for an audience to openly engage conversations about death, dying, and the lasting impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic especially within poor, working-class, and other marginalized communities. Engaging cultural memory and public accountability through the stories of the participants and the performer, Wave 11222 makes it clear that not only is the pandemic not over, but we must be accountable for the rippling repercussions of the damage done. Through these stories we not only keep their memories alive but begin to develop a deeper understanding of the depth of grief from COVID-19.

A 25-minute planetarium show that highlights NASA research and training initiatives that are preparing the next generation of astronauts who will head to Mars. Preceded by a guided tour of the night sky.

Experience the people, opportunities and community of the Towson University Honors College during our annual breakfast gathering during Family Weekend. The highlight of the event is the Celebration of Scholarship & Learning, a poster symposium showcasing the work of Honors College students. Family members and students will have an opportunity to stroll through a sampling of the latest academic research by students and to talk with them about their independent research and travel abroad in a variety of concentrations.
