Honors Opportunities

Individual Visits

In addition to visiting Towson University to attend an open house or tour, you may find it helpful in your application and decision process to meet with a member of our staff, to sit in on an Honors College class, or to meet with a current student. To schedule a visit, contact the Honors College front office at . Please give at least two weeks of notice for individual visits in order to arrange the best campus experience for you.

General information about campus tours and visiting TU can be found on the University Admissions website. The university is closed for all state and federal holidays, and between December 24 and January 1.

Honors College Preview Day: Celebration of Scholarship and Learning

The Honors College hosts additional activities specifically for its admitted students in conjunction with our spring Celebration of Scholarship and Learning (CSL). This Preview Day provides an opportunity to view CSL poster presentations and speak with students about their research, internships, service learning, and study abroad experiences alongside members of the Towson community. For admitted students, the event also includes a question-and-answer panel with faculty, current students, and alumni, as well as a brief guided tour of Douglass House, the Honors Living-Learning Community. This occasion offers admitted students a chance to experience both the academic and social aspects of what the Honors College offers.

TU Events

Open Houses

At Open House programs, you'll get an overview of the university and talk one-on-one with your future professors and classmates. You will learn about the different colleges that make up our university, and we'll have programs for you and your parents, plus an information fair and light snacks. Reservations are required to attend Open Houses.

The Honors College hosts an information session during Open Houses and is otherwise available to answer questions from interested students. Spring 2024 Open House program will take place on the following date:

Admitted Student Days

Administered by University Admissions, Admitted Student Days offer an integrated experience of what Towson University can be for you. You'll have the chance to meet many other students admitted to TU, ask questions about your major from professors and college representatives (including staff from the Honors college), meet current students from a variety of campus-wide clubs and organizations, find out information from numerous departments, and explore during a student-led campus tour. You might even meet your future roommate! Admitted Student Days for Spring 2024 will be held on the following dates:
