TU professor competes in Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition

TOWSON, Md. (Jan. 8, 2009)—Towson University Adjunct Professor of Voice Teri Bickham has advanced to the regional level of competition in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition, a program of the Metropolitan Opera designed to discover promising young opera singers in the United States and Canada.

In a winning performance at the local competition in Washington, D.C., Bickham was selected by a panel of opera professionals for the Mid-Atlantic regional contest, which will be held on Jan. 17 at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theatre in Washington, D.C.

Winners of the upcoming regional competition will advance to the semi-finals, held on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
