APPLICATION checklist for transfer students

We're looking for students who are eager to learn
and to give back to their community. Towson is an energetic campus and a
great place to connect with students from different cultures and
backgrounds. You'll find a passion for learning in your major and plenty of
programs, resources, clubs and organizations that will keep you on the go.
When considering applicants for admission to Towson, we pay close attention
to grades, standardized test scores, recommendations and writing samples.
How You Can Apply
Application Submission and Processing Time
For fast processing, submit your application online. It takes approximately
30 minutes to complete and can be saved. Once you’ve submitted the online
application, you will receive an electronic confirmation. We will begin
processing all applications during the fall months. We will begin mailing
decision letters in November.
If you are interested in the Honors College, you'll need to complete the
separate Honors College application.
Remember to note our deadlines.
Checklist for Transfer Applicants
Fee and Fee Waivers
Along with your completed application, you should also send the fee of $45. The application fee is neither deferrable nor refundable. If you apply online, you will be able to pay the application fee with a credit card.
College Transcripts
You should also make sure that the Office of Admissions receives your official transcript from each school you've attended.
A high school transcript is also required for transfer applicants who have earned fewer than 30 credits.
Standardized Test Scores
Standardized test scores are not required for transfer applicants unless you have earned fewer than 30 credits at your current institution.
Essay
Submitting an essay with your Towson application is optional. However, if you decide to apply to the Honors College, an essay will be required.
Determine if Your Major is Pre-Screened
Please refer to the online Undergraduate Catalog regarding the specific requirements for your intended major. Admission to the university does not guarantee entry to some majors that have screening criteria. These criteria may require prerequisites, minimum GPAs or auditions. Knowing these requirements in advance will prepare you during the admission process.
