ARTS FESTIVALS
Several arts festivals are held at Towson University each year.
The Asian Arts & Culture Center hosts the Many Moons Festival every other year in the fall. This year, the Many Moons Festival will take place on Saturday, September 6 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Center for the Arts. The festival features dance performances, musical presentations, art exhibitions and martial arts demonstrations. The festival will also include hands-on arts and crafts workshops, a delicious assortment of Asian foods and teas, and traditional Asian healing arts demonstrated by skilled practitioners.
Towson University also is the host of QuestFest, a two-week festival run with the help of Quest: Arts for Everyone, the Baltimore Theatre Project and the Baltimore Creative Alliance. This winter event features movement-based theater groups of hearing and deaf artists presenting performances that need no signed interpretation.
In the spring, the electronic media and film department, along with WMJF, hosts the Annual Towson University Media Arts Festival. This event features judged, opening screenings for projects in the categories of documentary, narrative, experimental, news and music video.
