PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATION

Many Towson University funded projects involve collaborations with state and local government agencies, local school systems, area businesses, and local and national nonprofit organizations. Through these projects, our faculty, staff and students reach out to make a difference in the community and fuel the economic development of the state of Maryland.

In recent years, TU has worked on projects with the Maryland Department of Transportation, the Maryland Department of the Environment, the Maryland Department of Human Resources, and other state agencies. We’ve partnered with national nonprofit organizations such as the National Federation of the Blind, with whom we collaborated on a National Science Foundation-funded project studying computer user frustration. We’ve also worked with school systems throughout the state of Maryland on projects designed to provide professional development for in-service teachers and to better prepare pre-service teachers for their future classrooms.

The Towson University Division of Economic and Community Outreach  facilitates many partnerships and collaborations.  It conducts externally funded projects focusing on a range of topics, from information security and small business development to work force training, among many others.
