Institute for Academic Diversity and Inclusion

The Institute for Academic Diversity and Inclusion (IADI) represents diversity perspectives in the Division of Academic Affairs at Towson University. The Institute supports initiatives related to faculty and staff development as well as curriculum transformation and promotes an understanding of how diversity enhances academic excellence for all members of the campus community. The Institute for Academic Diversity and Inclusion supports a broad definition of multiculturalism and diversity including aspects of race, class, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, language, religion and spirituality, disability, age, and national identity.

The Institute for Academic Diversity and Inclusion works closely with the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity (Executive Division) and the Center for Student Diversity (Division of Student Affairs) in order to ensure comprehensive diversity planning across the university. In addition, the IADI fosters links among senior administrators, faculty, staff, students, colleges, and units across campus.
