For most college students, it takes a while to find a group that best fits their interests. The Office of Student Activities will do its best to point students in the right direction when it hosts the 2016 Fall Involvement Fair.

The Fall Involvement Fair will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 4-6 p.m. inside the University Union on the second and third floors. There will be over 200 student organizations and departments in attendance, looking to recruit new student to their organizations.

Student Activities hosts the involvement fair each term, and it has become the premier opportunity to explore the variety of involvement opportunities that Towson University has to offer.

“Involvement is all about taking risks, stepping outside of your comfort zone, working to build relationships, and making the most out of your experience,” said B. Nathan, director of Student Activities. “This fair allows students to be the front seat driver in their college life, and to be the change they want to see by getting actively involved.”

One of the other perks of attending the Fall Involvement Fair is that students get the opportunity to meet face-to-face with a majority of Towson University’s student leaders. This year, these leaders includes Taylor James, the new Student Government Association president.

“Getting involved is a huge part of what shapes your time in college,” James said. “The friends you make and lessons you learn outside of your classes are what you will remember for a lifetime.

“The involvement fair gives you the chance to get to know what all the different groups are about and find the one that's perfect for you,” she added. “The great thing is that if you can't find the one that is just right for you, then you can make your own.”

Prior to the fair, students can browse TU’s current student organizations on Involved@TU. This will allows students to plan ahead to which organizations they would like to visit during the fair.

This event is open to all students and no registration is necessary to attend.
