Two members of the Towson University community were recently highlighted in national publications. Lorie Logan-Bennett, director of the Career Center, was featured in a Q&A on WalletHub.com, while junior sport management major Lyndsay Walker was quoted in the Green Bay Press-Gazette, a part of the USA Today network.

Logan-Bennett answered a Q&A as part of "Ask the Experts" in an article examining 2016's best and worst cities to start a career. She gave tips for job seekers who apply for positions in different cities as well as advice on how to turn an entry-level job into a long, successful career.

"Earn a good reputation by working hard, taking initiative, follow through, and exceeding expectations," Logan-Bennett said. "Find a mentor and do a lot of listening. Don't stop learning now that you've graduated. Take advantage of every opportunity to develop professionally and broaden and/or deepen your skill sets."

Walker presented her honors sport management research project at the Sport & Society in America conference at St. Norbert College, a gathering of 250 professors and industry professionals. Her remarks were quoted in an article outlining how women are the key to the National Football League's (NFL) future growth.

"More women watch the Super Bowl than the Oscars," Walker was quoted as saying. "Sunday Night Football was the third most watched program by women after Dancing With The Stars and Grey's Anatomy. Women are the fastest-growing fan demographic for the league."
