Biography

As a research assistant for RESI's applied economics division, Merve Gurlu contributed to various tasks including extracting and analyzing data from Maryland's childcare operating system, preparing presentations for Office of Child Care management, running and maintaining a multiple regression forecasting model, and extracting data for various ad hoc reports on behalf of Maryland State Department of Education's Office of Childcare. Ms. Gurlu has also contributed to several projects, such as the payment accuracy of childcare subsidy in Maryland, payment timeliness in the Maryland childcare subsidy program, and the subsidy enrollments among accredited childcare providers. She is currently working toward a Masters degree with Towson University's Department of Mathematics.
