Vehicles parked on campus must display a valid permit or be parked at a paid meter from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
- All vehicles parked on campus must have a valid permit during enforcement hours: Monday - Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Permits are not required in most locations from Friday at 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
- Permits are not required when the University is officially closed.
How to Use a Visitor Paystation
Push any button on the paystation to begin. Paystation accepts cash in the amount of $10, $5, $1, quarters and nickels (dimes and pennies are not accepted) and no change/refund is given. Debit/Credits cards are also accepted. Place the ticket from the paystation, face up on the dash of the vehicle. There are free 5 minute spaces to use in order to retrieve the permit from the paystation.
Types of Visitors
General Visitor: Park in designated Visitor or Overflow spaces. General visitors may not park in Department Visitor Guest spaces. Purchase parking permit at a yellow paystation, located in all garages and lots on campus.

Department Guest Visitor: Individuals unaffiliated with TU, visiting campus at the request/invitation of a TU Department. Faculty/Staff member will provide this person with a parking code prior to their visit. They should park in either a Visitor or Department Guest Visitor space. Authorized TU faculty/staff may fill out and submit the Department Guest Code Request Form online.
“Smart Way Elite” Visitor: Discounts are offered on hourly, daily, evening or Summer visitor parking permits for EPA Certified SmartWay Elite vehicles. Violators using a SmartWay Elite permit whose vehicle is not eligible are subject to a $300 fine for misuse of a permit.
