TU offers departmental "challenge" exams in Biology, Chemistry,
Economics, Health Science, Mathematics, Foreign Languages and Psychology.
Students' achievement in a particular test must be equal or superior to that of
students having earned a grade equivalent of 2.00. Although departmental
standards for granting credit may exceed this minimum, credit may not be granted
when achievement is below 2.00 level work. Departments may also offer
advanced placement with no credit given based on an individualized assessment.

Fee: $30 per unit + $10 registration fee
to take the test + $30 per unit to apply units for passed tests to your TU
Students are not permitted to attempt a CLEP exam if equivalent course was
attempted at TU or earned as credit at another college or university.

Students who have received credit for 101, 102, 201, or 202 at Towson University in the language to be tested are not eligible to take the CPL exam without the prior written permission of the department.
