Study Abroad Pre-departure Information for Parents and Guardians
WITHDRAW AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
To withdraw from a TU or non-TU program prior to departure, the student must inform the Study Abroad Office in writing. The letter or email should state the reason for withdraw. Deadline to notify TU of a withdraw is December 11 for minimester and spring semester and May 14 for summer and fall semesters. Students who withdraw after the deadline without evidence of extenuating circumstances will be charged the study abroad fee and will also be responsible for any expenses paid on the student's behalf abroad. Students must also inform the non-TU program if they are withdrawing, and withdraw deadlines vary by program.
For TU Sunshine Coast, TU Palucca Schule, TU in Argentina, TU UK-Direct, TU in France, and the USM Program in Rome a $500 cancellation charge will be incurred after December 1 for the spring semester, May 12 for the fall semester, and April 15 for the summer program. Additional penalties may be incurred after any expenses have been paid on the student's behalf in Italy.
To withdraw from a non-TU program you must also notify the program by their posted eadline. You may be subject to penalties and/or be responsible for any deposits incurred on your behalf. Each non-TU program will have its own policies regarding withdraw.
