TU UK-Direct Newcastle University
Newcastle University is
home to a diverse and cosmopolitan community with over 2,500
international students from over 100 countries worldwide.
It is one of Britain's leading universities and is home to
over 19,000 full-time and part-time students. The university
is located in the center of the vibrant city of Newcastle
but is only 20 minutes away from the beautiful English countryside. According to the International Student Barometer Survey, students placed Newcastle University seventh in the world for the quality of its international student experience.
Located in the northeast of England, Newcastle was recently named one of the most exciting party cities in the UK ranking higher than London, Glasgow and Leeds. The city is exciting, friendly and vibrant, with great nightlife, sport and culture. It's a compact and energetic place - most of the city's shops and businesses lie within one square mile. At night, the city center comes alive on a scale unmatched elsewhere in England - the bubbly nightlife with its carnival atmosphere is widely renowned.
Newcastle is also a fairly inexpensive place for students to live compared with many other places in the UK. Most amenities are within walking distance of university housing, most of the shops, theatres, cafes and restaurants a few minutes' walk from the campus, and, as a student-friendly city, there are many discounts for students.
