Voter Education Resources
TU is a Voter Friendly Campus.
Make a Voting Plan
- Check your voter registration. If you have moved since the last election, check your voter registration to see what address you are registered to vote under. The deadline the change your voting address in advance of the MD election is October 15. MD voters can also register to vote during early voting or on election day. Go to an early voting center in the county where you live during early voting, or go to your assigned election day polling place and bring a document that proves where you live.
- Decide whether to vote in person or by mail. MD voters can request a mail-in ballot through November 1. You can request a mail-in ballot or look up your polling site location through TurboVote. If you are an MD voter and vote by mail, you can use TU's on-campus ballot drop-box at South Campus Pavilion.
- If voting in person, decide whether to vote early or on election day. MD early voting is from October 24 – October 31. You can vote at any early voting location in the county you are registered in.
- Learn what's on your ballot. Research candidates and questions on your ballot in advance so you can know how you want to vote before showing up to the polls. MD voters can look up their sample ballot prior to voting. Ballotpedia and guides.vote also provide nonpartisan information on candidate stances and ballot measures.
- Bring a friend. Spread the word that elections are coming up and help members of your community make a plan to vote.
More than 85% of TU students were registered to vote in the 2020 Presidential Election. TU is proud to serve as a polling location and to provide access to a mail-in ballot drop box at the South Campus Pavilion. Voters with disabilities can get ready to vote through accessible voting resources.
