NEW FOR NONPROFIT EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Leading with resilience: Strategies for sustainable impact for nonprofits

June 3, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. & June 4, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Sponsored by Greenspring Advisors. Facilitated by Kim Fabian.

This two-day workshop helps nonprofit executive directors to strengthen their resilience and discover skills to create a lasting impact in their demanding roles.

About the workshop: A recent survey in The Chronicle of Philanthropy revealed that a third of nonprofit leaders plan to leave their organizations in the next two years, with 22% saying they plan to leave the sector altogether. While they reported overall satisfaction with their jobs, many said the demands of their roles were relentless. These findings show it’s more important than ever to help nonprofit executives build the resilience that allows them to serve their communities, without sacrificing their own well-being.

This interactive workshop will uncover ways to lighten the weight we feel as leaders. In the company of like-minded peers, you’ll learn strategies to strengthen your executive presence, lead with greater intention, and cultivate a culture of well-being that energizes teams and inspires stakeholders—ensuring sustainable impact for your organization and yourself.

On day two, participants will be joined by their board chair (or another board leader) to explore purpose-driven board practices and gain insights from an experienced panel on elevating the CEO/board relationship.

A closing luncheon provides the opportunity for purpose-driven leaders to expand their community of support.

Target participants: Nonprofit CEOs and executive directors, board chair (second day only). Recommended for mid-size nonprofits with over $750,000 in revenue.

Learning outcomes:

  • Build personal resilience to effectively navigate the demands of nonprofit leadership
  • Strengthen executive presence to lead with confidence and authenticity
  • Develop intentional leadership practices that reduce the noise and allow you to align actions with organizational values and goals
  • Cultivate a culture of well-being that promotes team engagement and reduces burnout
  • Elevate the CEO/board relationship to generate support and drive organizational outcomes

Key themes:

  • An intentional approach to impact helps you regain a greater sense of influence amidst the chaos
  • You can make a meaningful difference in your community, even when you know you can’t do it all
  • To bring out the best in others, you must first bring out the best in yourself
  • Building support systems is essential for resilience and long-term success
  • The CEO does not have to carry the burden alone—effectively engaging others is key to achieving the mission
