Campus Message
Celebrating your civic engagement
TU leadership sent the following message to campus in honor of Election Day.
Students, faculty and staff,
As university leaders, we have been invigorated this fall by the energy we have observed and experienced on our campus. We want to express our gratitude for our TU community’s impressive commitment to civic responsibility. This commitment is a testament to TU’s nationally recognized record of civic engagement and a powerful demonstration of the values we hold as a university community.
It has been inspiring that so many members of our university community, across all spectrums, have engaged in opportunities for dialogue and participated in civic engagement programming. Civil discourse is vital to our society, and the TU community continues to be eager to make a difference in the life of our nation and have their voices heard. Your dedication sets an example for future generations of Tigers and contributes to the vibrancy of our university.
With election season nearing its end, we encourage you to keep civic engagement and social responsibility at the forefront. We hope that you will continue to engage in community conversations, resource shares and collective reflections hosted by the Office of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility. You will want also to keep a close eye on Involved@TU for other opportunities to participate in civic life and to become involved with community projects and attend future educational sessions, including an Election Reflection that will held on Nov. 12.
We know that this year’s election has brought a range of emotions that have been experienced by us all. We remind you that TU offers a variety of resources to help you to reflect on your experiences, process your feelings and maintain your well-being. Specifically, the first of three election stress management tabling sessions will be held from noon to 2 p.m. tomorrow on the second floor of the University Union, with the next session scheduled for Nov. 11 in the West Village Commons.
We are very proud to be members of our TU community, and we thank you for your continued commitment to an engaged, respectful and inclusive Towson University.
Sincerely,
Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
