The Greatest Honor of My Career
President Ginsberg reflects on his first six months in office in his April newsletter.
It was one year ago this spring that I was approached about my prospective interest in the presidency of Towson University. As I learned more about the university and its mission, I knew this was a place I could call home. Now, six months into my presidency, it really is home.
This first chapter has been busy and exciting as I've immersed myself in the TU community. Nearly every night, my wife and I attend campus events—from athletics to the arts to academic showcases—and get to know the many remarkable members of this university.
I’ve also been traveling around campus and throughout Maryland as part of a listening tour with students, staff, faculty, alumni and neighbors. Through this process, I’ve learned about the priorities our community holds dear – values like student success, teaching excellence, and our commitment to equity and inclusion.
As we recently celebrated an unforgettable inauguration ceremony, I vowed that as we grow and evolve, we will always remain true to these core values that are so deeply ingrained in our DNA. I often say my goal is to help make a great university even greater. I know with the help of this incredible community, we will make Towson University the very best it can be for the Tigers of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
It is the greatest honor of my career to serve as TU’s 15th president, and I look forward to everything our next era holds.
Sincerely,
Mark R. Ginsberg
President
