Orchestra and conductor playing music

I often say the arts is one of the “front porches” of our university. At TU, we’re home to an incredibly vibrant and talented fine arts community – one that energizes the campus and brings thousands of visitors to our university each year.

In fact, nearly 32,000 people attend TU’s many arts and culture events annually. From theatrical performances, to music, dance and the visual arts, Towson University is truly a regional destination for a breadth of entertainment and enrichment.

This month, for the first time in nearly 20 years, the College of Fine Arts & Communication has opened its doors for the revival of summer arts celebrations at TU. During our two-week “Summer at the Center” festival, dozens of alumni, faculty, students and local professionals paid tribute to the Baltimore arts scene and Towson University’s long history as part of it.

I’ve had the pleasure of attending these events and many others during my first year at TU, and I am constantly inspired by the creativity and passion that our university holds. Even though this year has had its challenges, it is so heartening to know that we can always come together to experience the joy of art.

Wishing you a wonderful rest of your summer.

Sincerely,

Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D.
