I have had the pleasure of spending a lot of time in Annapolis over the last few months meeting with our elected officials about Towson University’s impact in Maryland and the needs of our university. I can tell you from having these conversations that everyone I meet in our state’s capital is proud and excited to talk about TU.

TU has a legacy that transcends our campus and our community. We are known as an engine of economic development for Maryland—filling critical state needs in nursing, education, health and human services, and the sciences, to name but a few.

But perhaps most importantly, TU is known as a university that reflects and empowers the people of Maryland. Our student population mirrors the racial and ethnic makeup of our state. And not only are TU students from Maryland—with 90% of our student enrollment coming from state residents—but they also choose to stay in Maryland after graduation. Currently, 87% of TU graduates are employed in the state.

It's this lifelong impact of our students that makes Towson University one of Maryland’s greatest assets. And it is one of the many reasons that I am so proud to be a Towson Tiger.

Sincerely,

Mark R. Ginsberg
