Dear TU faculty and staff:

As you know, classes will be on recess next week during the annual spring break period.

I am very pleased to inform our university community that I have designated Friday, March 22 as a one-time administrative leave day. Consequently, our university’s administrative offices will be closed on that day. Some essential services will remain open, and essential personnel scheduled to work should continue to report to work.

I have made this decision, after consultation with our cabinet, both in recognition of the much-appreciated work of our faculty and staff and in response to feedback that I have heard during my listening tour.

I hope that this administrative day will provide an opportunity for you to refresh and recharge as we prepare to complete the last few months of the academic year. The listening tour has been so incredibly valuable for me to understand the context of Towson University — including the opportunities we have as well as the challenges we face as we frame a vision for our future.

For those who remain on campus for spring break — including residential students — campus dining and shuttle services, among other units, will remain in operation even as the one-time leave day will be observed. Essential staff scheduled to work should report to campus, and work with supervisors to take an administrative day at another time.

Any questions should be directed to the Office of Human Resources at 410-704-2162.

Thank you for all you do in support of our university — it is much appreciated and highly respected.

Go Tigers!

Sincerely,

Mark R. Ginsberg
President
