TU announces event to teach students about wage discrimination, self-advocacy
‘Equal Pay Day’ features speakers, including Comptroller Brooke Lierman, and workshops for students
Towson University today announced that it will hold its first Equal Pay Day event on Wed., March 12. This daylong event will feature speakers discussing their experience and expertise with wage discrimination and self-advocacy and workshops for participants, including resume building and salary negotiation. Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman will present the keynote.
Media is invited to attend the event. Jonas Sheckler, TU’s first assistant director of financial well-being, will be onsite distributing financial literacy resources and leading a workshop on salary negotiations.
