Students can prepare for the workforce of tomorrow by investing in their future success today. With support from the Career Center, career readiness doesn’t have to be daunting.

The TU Career Center provides students with abundant resources to set them up for success in their respective fields, including resume and cover letter support, career communities, the SuiTUp Closet and more.

“The resources available at the Career Center are invaluable for students’ career readiness. We help students graduate with essential professional skills in their toolbox,” says Lorie Logan-Bennett, assistant vice president for Career Services.

“Our partnerships with alumni and thousands of employers help our Tigers build their professional network before entering the workforce.”

Career Communities

One of the best ways students can get a picture of what a career is like in their field of interest is by joining one of the career communities. Career communities are an excellent resource for workshops and site visits to local businesses.

Students hear directly from potential employers about what it’s like to work at a local business and how they can set themselves apart in the job application process. The communities also provide students with networking opportunities with other Tigers in their field.

Internship and Job Search with Handshake

Searching the internet for internship and job posting can be overwhelming—Handshake can lessen that stress.

It is the primary source for vetted job and internship postings. Students can search and apply for jobs and internships and will also receive curated recommendations based on the skills and experience they list on their profile. Students can also register for Career Center workshops, events and site visits through Handshake.

Career Coaching

Students who are unsure of where to begin in their search process, or who just need a little guidance, can utilize career coaching for support. Career coaching is an appointment-based service where students get individualized career support for internship search strategies, job search strategies and mock interviews.

Dress for success with the SuiTUp Closet

When you’re prepared and dressed your best, you feel ready to take on face-to-face interactions with future employers.

The center’s SuiTUp Closet provides students with a wide variety of professional clothing to rent for interviews, career fairs and more. After picking out an outfit, why not update your LinkedIn profile photo using the LinkedIn Photo Booth?

Tiger Mentor Network

You can connect with alumni in your career field through the Tiger Mentor Network.  Students develop personalized mentorship from an alum in their field and learn how to build and maintain professional relationships.

Work with the Career Center to connect with and learn from an alum who is active in your field of interest.

Career Fairs

TU hosts several focused and general fairs each academic year. The Mega Job & Internship Fair typically hosts more than 200 employers and is an opportunity for students to meet employers face to face, find open applications and share their resumes for further networking.

Students can register for the Mega Fair on March 7 through Handshake.
