Graduate Student Regalia Rental Closet

Applying to Rent Regalia

Towson University students enrolled in a master's program and attending Spring 2025 commencement are eligible to apply to rent regalia through the GSA's rental closet.

Due to limited resources, the GSA can only provide regalia to students who wish to attend their commencement ceremony and not for any other reason (such as a photoshoot). At this time, doctoral students cannot rent regalia through the GSA.

Students must attach the following documentation to regalia rental applications:

• A personal statement describing the student's need to rent regalia for commencement.
• Proof of clearance for graduation.* This is an email from commencement AT_TOWSON with the subject line "Register for Spring 2025 Commencement." A notification of eligibility is not sufficient; an approval email is required. A screenshot of the email will suffice. 
• Proof of commencement registration.* This is an email from commencement AT_TOWSON with the subject line "Registration Complete - Spring 2025 Commencement." A notification of eligibility is not sufficient; an approval email is required. A screenshot of the email will suffice. 

*Please note: Graduation refers to the academic conferral of your degree and completion of your program after it has been confirmed that you have met all requirements. Commencement refers to the ceremony which celebrates this achievement. Participation in Commencement does not guarantee that your degree will be awarded. To receive rental regalia, you must be approved for both.

To apply to rent regalia through the GSA, initiate the Regalia Rental DocuSign. The application will be open through April 4, 2025.

Items Available for Rent

Graduation hoods and gowns are available for rent through the GSA. As of right now, we can only provide the following gown sizes and hood colors:

Gowns

• 5'1" - 5'2"
• 5'3" - 5'4"
• 5'5" - 5'6"
• 5'7" - 5'8"
• 5'9" - 5'10"
• 5'11" - 6'0"

Hoods

• MA: Master of Arts (White)
• MEd: Master of Education (Light Blue)
• MFA: Master of Fine Arts (Brown)
• MM: Master of Music (Pink)
• MS: Master of Science (Gold)

Please ensure you request the hood color that matches your degree.

Return Requirements

We highly recommend students return their regalia immediately following their commencement ceremony to avoid a late return fee. For the Spring 2025 cycle, regalia is due on June 23rd.

• An in-person drop off at Towson University Administration Building, room 3112
