My advice to anyone who’s applying.
There is no such thing as being too prepared. Apply early, ask questions and have confidence in yourself. Do not be discouraged in the face of obstacles. All it takes to get where you want to go is resilience and a positive attitude!

Why I work in Admissions.
I have always known that I wanted to work in the field of education because I believe it is one of the greatest professions. Eventually, I realized Admissions was the place for me because it is a dynamic and high-energy environment. Though each day presents different challenges, I take comfort in knowing that I am helping students grow into the version of themselves they have always wanted to be.

My warm and fuzzy moment.
During my senior year at TU, I gave my own TEDx Talk. I shared my story of how I stayed strong throughout my college journey and was able to be successful, despite the many mental and physical health barriers that presented themselves to me. Seeing so many of my friends, family and colleagues in the audience made me feel so loved and supported!

My student experiences that helped prepare me for my job.
Before I became a full-time staff member in Admissions, I worked part-time as a TU tour guide. It was definitely the best student job ever! With every tour I gave, I learned more about our beautiful campus. Knowing that I was helping future Tigers start to envision what their life would be like at TU was really rewarding. I was also a Transfer Student Mentor, which sparked my interest in helping transfer students like me navigate life at TU.
