Something people might not know about TU.
TU has a FoodShare Program that provides weekly bags of food and has free pantry hubs (where you can receive up to 10 items per week) that is open to students, staff and faculty who experience food insecurity. They provide additional items outside of food such as hygiene items like toothpaste, toilet paper and sanitary pads. You can also host your own food drive to benefit the hub.

My advice to anyone who’s applying.
Always do your research. Navigate the TU website and see what degree programs you are interested in, what the requirements are and what classes you will need to enroll in to finish your degree at TU. Don’t forget to check out student organization pages on campus and see if any pique your interest. Making TU your home really starts with getting involved and creating a lasting community.

Why I work in Admissions.
I work in Admissions at TU because I think it’s a rewarding experience to be able to work with prospective students who will one day possibly call themselves a TU tiger. As an Admissions Counselor, you play a pivotal role in assisting students in their educational journey.

My student experiences helped prepare me for my job.
While I attended TU, I was President of my sorority on campus, Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. and holding this leadership position prepared me in areas like public speaking, leading a team and recruiting. I held the social and public relations chair for the Latin American Student Organization (LASO) on campus too, where I learned skills such as event planning, effective and clear communication, and community outreach — that I apply to my job every day.
