Something people might not know about TU.
Towson University is home to The StarTUp, a cohort-based fellowship group aimed at mentoring and supporting budding entrepreneurs. The program is run out of The Armory building just off campus in the heart of Uptown Towson. There are excellent networking events throughout the year at The Armory. Alumni are always willing to connect and help out fellow Tigers. The Armory is also an outstanding hidden gem to find a quiet place to study or enjoy the cafe on site.
My advice to anyone who’s applying.
For those navigating the application process, my suggestion is to seek out mentors, whether at home or school, who can serve as a support system and encourage your independence. Organizing crucial information is paramount, so tailor your approach to what suits you best, be it through a spreadsheet or a calendar highlighting important dates. Additionally, always keep in mind that we're here to assist you. Reach out in a way that feels comfortable, whether it's through phone, email or chat.
Why I work in admissions.
I’m in Admissions because I find joy in connecting with individuals and contributing in a small but meaningful way to their dreams of attending college. The satisfaction of engaging with diverse people throughout the entire admissions process, offering assistance, even in small ways, brings me a great deal of pride.
What I love most about my job.
I cherish the lively atmosphere at TU’s events, especially major admissions occasions like Open Houses, Admitted Student Day and Move-In Day. The infectious school spirit is truly inspiring, and don't miss the chance to snap a photo with Doc the Tiger!
