Andrea Barton is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Towson University.  She teaches a required practical skills course in the undergraduate degree program in Exercise Science entitled Clinical Exercise Assessment and Prescription, an elective course called Cardiovascular Physiology, Disease Prevention and Rehabilitation, and serves as the Internship Coordinator for the Exercise Science Degree Program.  Her scholarship focuses on physical fitness assessment of college students, undergraduate interprofessional education, effective strategies for practical instruction, and most recently strength after sixty for older adults.  Prior to her work at Towson University, she was employed at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist.  Andrea also worked as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist for the Heart Failure and Transplant Clinic at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.  Simultaneous to her employment as an instructor for the Department of Kinesiology, she also held Clinical Exercise Physiologist positions at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department and at the Towson University Wellness Center.  She is a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University.
