Biography

Michelle’s work appears in her first poetry collection blue poppy girl (Blue Poppy Press, 2020), along with poems in The Tube Mapper Project:  Capturing Moments on the London Underground, and poems & photographs in several online and print journals.  She is a hat-trick writer, crafting poetry, creative nonfiction, and fiction.  Her research of late concentrates on the lives and writings of Emily Dickinson, Virginia Woolf, Anne Sexton, and Sylvia Plath.

When not in the classroom, Michelle does many things.  Wanderlust rules her and she travels frequently, having spent summers in London and time in Boston, D.C., and New York, amongst other places.  She cheers on the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Bruins, and Manchester City F.C.  She is enamoured of blue poppies and English blue butterflies.  And she considers herself a perpetual student, taking classes on everything from piano lessons to drawing & painting to foreign languages.

Michelle can be found socially on IG, Threads, Twitter, and TikTok @its2l_michelle.
