English Minor

Improve your communication skills and broaden your appreciation of literature through a minor in English.

The minor will enrich your appreciation of good writing and help you develop critical skills in analytical thinking and persuasive expression in both speech and writing. For students in highly technical majors, this minor provides a strong complement, including the communication skills employers are seeking.

The flexibility of the minor in English gives you a wide choice of courses within the department. Students must complete 24 units with a grade equivalent of 2.00 or higher in each course, 6 units of lower-level courses, 6 units of upper- or lower-level courses, and 9 units of upper-level courses.
