If you are interested in pursuing a career within the Jewish community, this certificate can help you gain the skills you need for a range of leadership positions.
This 20-unit graduate program prepares you for leadership positions in the Jewish community in a variety of settings, including Jewish federations, Jewish family services, Jewish community centers, Jewish camps, Hillel, and Jewish organizational life and synagogues. Core components include three graduate Jewish studies courses, three professional courses, a practicum seminar and a final project. All courses are selected with the approval of the program director.
Faculty members include prominent scholars and educators with credentials in key areas of Jewish studies, Jewish communal service and Jewish education. Faculty research and publications cover Jewish thought and mysticism, the archaeology of Ancient Israel, Second Temple Period literature and history, rabbinic thought and literature, biblical and ancient Near Eastern civilization, American Jewish history, European Jewish history, and informal and formal Jewish education.
