Leticia Romo, Professor at Towson in the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures, received her Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her graduate studies centered in Semiotics and Reader Response Criticism as applied to Latin American Literature of the Boom and Post-Boom and their connection to Spain. Her research focuses on the intra-textual relationship between the reader and the author, and how it shapes society's concept of Reality and Fiction. Lately, her research has explored the interconnection of issues of gender identity as they relate to citizenship rights.
