Dr. Kenton received his Ph.D. in Education (Curriculum and Instructional Technology) from Iowa State University in 2002 and joined the COE faculty in August 2002. From 2009-2016, he served as the Assistant Dean in the College of Education, coordinating preparations for the 2014 joint MSDE/NCATE Accreditation visit. Since 2016, Dr. Kenton has returned to the classroom, teaching courses at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. His primary teaching interests are in assessment, learning theories, technology integration's effects on learning and society and online learning.
His research interests include assessment and accreditation; instructional technology integration and interaction; metacognition and self-directed learning; information literacy and information fluency; the use of non-written feedback in online learning environments, and; secondary data analysis.
