The Arts Integration Institute is a collaborative effort to infuse arts instruction
across the curriculum. Dedicated to deepening student learning and appreciation for
the arts while raising student achievement, the Institute provides opportunities for
teachers in the arts and in other disciplines to learn or update their skills by integrating
the arts into the curriculum.
The Institute's interdisciplinary courses combine teaching methodology and arts experiences.
Courses may be taken as part of continuing education or graduate degree programs.
The courses and workshops use a variety of formats and are designed to be flexible
enough to support the needs of educators working with varied age groups.
The Arts Integration Institute offers the Graduate Certificate in Arts Integration for practicing classroom teachers, fine arts specialists, administrators, and teaching artists. The Institute works closely with school districts and the Maryland State Department of Education to provide timely, progressive educational courses and workshops in response to the needs of practicing educators in Maryland PK-12 schools.
