Alison founded ASEID Contemporary Dance Company (ASEID) in 2005, with the mission of pursuing innovative dance concepts through the collaborative fusion of movement styles and artistic views. ASEID orchestrates the creative development of artistic movement that embodies and celebrates its diverse membership and the collaborative process. As Artistic Director, Alison produced six seasons in New York City, creating a repertoire of over 40 dances in contemporary ballet, modern, and jazz genres. Jack Anderson from the New York Times referred to her work as “…a sensuous frolic filled with sinuous curving phrases.” Tim Martin from Dance Europe Magazine referred to Alison as “… adept at the craft of choreography.” Alison was commissioned to create a series of contemporary works for two of New York Theatre Ballet’s national tours and Hartford City Ballet’s annual season. Her work has been presented by Atlanta Dance Canvas, Ballet Builders, The Hartford City Ballet, Three 10 Moment, Brooklyn Ballet (international tour), Long Island Dance Consortium, The Collective, MixTape: a fresh cut of movement, and Towson University. Ms. Seidenstricker’s collaboration with Lois Greenfield led to photographs of ASEID being highlighted in Time Magazine (2005), Lois Greenfield’s calendar Breaking Bounds (2008), and her new book Still Moving (2015).

Alison continued to expand her work within arts administration and teaching. As Managing Director of MixTape: a Fresh Cut of Movement (2008 - ’10) and through an internship with The Field (2009), she continued to advance her leadership, production, marketing, fundraising, and organizational skills. During her 12 years in New York City, Alison taught creative movement, ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, partnering, improvisation, and composition at a variety of schools including Legworks Dance Studio, Variations: a dancer’s studio, and DSD Dance Center. She was active in creating progressive training programs for Legworks Dance Studio and DSD Dance Center that supported the students training towards collegiate dance opportunities. Alison also taught “Kinethetic Learning in the Classroom” at Albright College (Education Majors), Intro to Ballet and Anatomy for Dancers at Purchase College, and was a substitute teacher at Broadway Dance Center (Modern and Jazz) and The Alvin Ailey School (Jazz).

Upon moving to Maryland, Alison became the Dance Educator at Southwest Baltimore Charter School (SBCS), an Expeditionary Learning and Arts Integrated Public Charter School. At SBCS (2014 - ‘18), Alison successfully developed a middle grades dance program, producing three culminating shows a year that celebrated the students’ choreography as well as her own.

Ms. Seidenstricker has a BA in dance from Slippery Rock University, a MFA in Choreography from Purchase College, and is a Laban/Bartenieff Certified Movement Analyst. Alison is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Towson University. She teaches modern dance technique, dance composition, is the Co-Artistic Director of the Fall Towson University Dance Company, and is the Coordinator of the PK-12 Dance Certification Program.
