Dr. Liu joined Towson University in 2021. Before joining the faculty in the Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Liu held a tenure-track position at Columbus State University. Her research focuses on corporate social advocacy, strategic communication, and political misinformation. She examines how corporations involve in social advocacy campaigns to create informed public opinion. Dr. Liu also conducts research exploring how expert corrections mitigate misinformation on social media. Her work has been published in New Media & Society, Mass Communication and Society, Atlantic Journal of Communication, Newspaper Research Journal, etc.
